hi! i'm Wen. it probably does not interest you to know i'm 7 years into being a software engineer. but i need you to know that so i can convince you that this app is not vibe-coded. i grew up in Singapore, but it's too hot. so i moved to Germany, but winters there get too cold. so there isn't really a place I call home now. lately, i've been very interested in lamps. I love returning home to a lit lamp waiting for me. it's a v cozy feeling. tell me you're single, without telling me you're single, eh? 😭 well, now, it's only polite that you introduce yourself too! drop me an email :)

but it's not silly 🥺 i made it with love! well, alright, you got me, things made out of love can still be silly (you, for example 😜). I made this, first and foremost, for myself and my growth journey. I honestly believe i've grown a lot from using it. it has made consuming content more intentional; and to reivist a save whenever i unlock my phone has been very grounding.

one surprising side effect is the change of my attitude towards scrolling on the apps. you know how we often feel a pang of emptiness after doom scrolling? i suspect it's because we rmb nothing despite the hours we spent on the apps. these days when i scroll, i view it as a foraging activity. i get excited when i come across a piece of enlightening content; make the effort to capture it with a note as to why it spoke to me and what its main points are; and genuinely look forward to re-encountering it again on my home screen widget. introducing that bit of friction to scrolling, and having something to show for after, has made it more intentional, less mindless, and dare i say, productive!

this is not a flash card app. do not attempt to use it for your studies 😅 for that i recommend Anki flashcards. but i guess one can see this as a casual Anki app for this school of life that we are all enrolled in. all the things that have inspired a better version of you, review them again and again till you internalise them as you would that that scientific fact for your exam!

don't we all hate subscriptions? don't we all! unfortunately, it's the only sustainable way to maintain the app, work on new features, while eschewing ads. have you in mind any features you'd like? drop me a message! Our brain is like a sponge. It absorbs whatever we feed it. With that in mind, I built this to revisit the things I want my brain to soak up. Adding an extra 'e' because it's cute :D

your saves are offline and local first, but the app syncs with the online database intermittently. when you sign out from the app, it will perform an online sync before wiping the local storage. so when you sign in again (on the same device or different), it will download your saves from the online database. to delete your saves forever, you may choose to delete your account. i have no idea why you would do that, but that's free will, innit? :D

the widget resurfaces a different save every 30 mins. how each is deicded is a secret 😉 let's just say the universe has a part in deciding which you need reminding of at each moment
